Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

New year, new website. I’ve never really bought into the idea of “new year, new me” it’s always just been another day passing by like any other. I’ve never understood the concept of new year’s resolutions either, you don’t need the year to change in order to stop eating rum cake for breakfast. What? I enjoy the taste ok leave me alone. But this year I’m buying into all of it, I even have a couple of New Year’s resolutions. First, no more rum cake for breakfast that one is obvious. Second, post a weekly blog every Saturday, starting today. (If you have any ideas for things you’d like me to write about, feel free to contact me with your suggestions or leave a comment below). Something just feels different this time around the sun, it really does feel like a new year, a new beginning. Maybe it’s because 2020 was so incomparably awful from any other year we’ve experienced that we’re eager to just let it die in the cold dead hands of Father Time and move on. But for me, this website represents the start of a new chapter and I’m very excited to find out what the future holds. I plan on taking a lot of photos this year, so expect the gallery to be updated regularly. I am currently riding a wave of abstract photo inspiration unlike anything I’ve experienced in the past, so if you’re into abstract photography this may be the place for you. Of course expect more nature photography, admittedly it has gotten away from me a bit in the last couple of years, which leads to my next New Year’s resolution: Getting back to what got me started with photography in the first place, nature. More landscapes, more sunsets, more wildlife, and who knows maybe I’ll see the Aurora Borealis for the first time. Come spring I should be offering some services like portrait photography, product photography, and perhaps whatever other photographic needs one might have, so stay tuned for more information on that in the future. I have some other ideas that may or may not come to fruition so I’ll keep them to myself but I am excited about all the possibilities and I hope it translates into a great experience for those who visit my website and are interested in what I do. I really feel like I’m ending this historically crappy year for humanity on a personal high note and beginning 2021 with a step in the right direction. I really want to thank Dennis Caplinger for helping me get this website together, I am lost when it comes to this stuff and could not have done it without him. If you are in need of affordable web services for your small business I would highly recommend contacting Dennis here: [email protected]

Now a send off to 2020. A year we will never forget, for better or for worse. Ultimately I hope for the better. 2020 has been a teacher:

2020 Taught Us

To treat others the way we want to be treated

That Humans are the guardians of Earth and it’s our duty to nourish that which gives nourishment.

That life is fleeting and to cherish your loved ones.

The importance of medical workers, postal workers, business owners and all the people that keep the wheels of society spinning.

How to adapt when life throws us the inevitable curveball of change and uncertainty.

The value of taking time to relax and let go.

2020 taught us the power we have when we come together for a common goal.

So yeah 2020 might have sucked, but it taught us that a walk through the flames can be the catalyst for change.

I guess thanks for reminding us what’s important, 2020???

My personal theme for the year is “change”. 2020 taught me how to embrace change in the face of fear and anxiety. What was the theme for your year? What did 2020 teach you?
