I first gained an interest in photography while deciding which classes to take for sophomore year at Walled Lake Central High School. When looking through the classes I saw photography on the list and it sounded fun and was something way different from the normal classes. I took the class every semester after that until I graduated in 2006. I did enjoy the class but I was never really into photography beyond that. I don’t have many photos from that time but I did manage to find one.

It wasn’t until 2008 when my Uncle Jim lent me his Nikon D70 that my interest in photography really began to take hold. I hadn’t thought about photography at all the two years since I graduated and the camera sat around for a handful of months before I even used it. I had never used a digital camera before but decided I’d take it to the park with me and see what it was all about. I was hooked the moment I saw the photo on the camera’s LCD screen. This is quite literally the first photo I ever took with a digital camera.

Thanks Uncle Jim for letting me borrow that D70! I probably wouldn’t be doing photography at all right now if it wasn’t for that.
